Short Information
1. Introduction : This notice is published for the information of all concerned regarding the Chief of Army Staff Scholarship to be provided for the academic session 2082 (2025/26 AD) under the various programs operated through the Military Welfare Fund.
2. Scholarship Details (a) Scholarship Amount A lump-sum amount of NPR 25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand Rupees) per student per year. (b) Eligible Students Two children of soldiers who: attained martyrdom during military operations, or died while performing official duties, and who are studying in institutions other than military residential colleges and Emylal (welfare-supported) schools. Each eligible child will receive NPR 25,000 annually. (c) Class Level Students studying from Grade 1 to Grade 12. (d) Age Requirement Students must be between 6 years and below 18 years of age.
Eligibility
- (a) The applicant must be the biological son or daughter of a Nepal Army soldier who: attained martyrdom during military operations, or died in the course of duty.
- (b) A maximum of two children from a beneficiary family shall be eligible to receive the scholarship.
- (c) Students studying in government/community schools or institutional private schools must submit: a copy of the academic transcript (mark sheet) showing that they passed the academic session 2082, and a copy of the character certificate.
- (d) The student must be enrolled in a school or college recognized by the Government of Nepal.
- (e) If the student is studying (other than under full or partial fee concessions) in colleges, schools, or Emylal schools operated through the Welfare Fund, including colleges operated under the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences, or is studying under the non-military quota, a recommendation letter from the concerned institution must be submitted compulsorily.
Students Not Eligible for the Scholarship
- (a) Students studying in colleges, schools, or empanelled schools operated under the expenditure of the Welfare Fund, including institutions operated under the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences.
- (b) Children of beneficiaries who are currently receiving educational facilities under agreements with empanelled educational institutions..
- (c) Students who fail to submit complete documents or do not submit their applications within the prescribed deadline.
Documents Required to be Submitted with the Application: The following documents must be attached with the application:
- (a) One photocopy each of the pension cards of both the mother and the child.
- (b) One copy of the relationship verification certificate.
- (c) One copy of the child's birth registration certificate.
- (d) One copy of the academic transcript (mark sheet)..
- (e) One copy of the character certificate.
- (f) If the annual examination result for Academic Session 2082 has not yet been published, a copy of the admit card along with a recommendation letter from the concerned school must be submitted.
- (g) If the applicant has previously received this scholarship, the Welfare Registration Number (File Number) mentioned on the last page of the green pension card must be clearly stated and submitted.
(b) Submission Venue For applicants residing within the Kathmandu Valley: Directorate of Welfare, Army Headquarters (Jangi Adda). For applicants residing outside the Kathmandu Valley: The nearest Nepal Army Unit or Formation Headquarters convenient to the applicant.
7. Additional Information (a) In accordance with the provisions mentioned above, the concerned departments, directorates-general, offices, directorates, divisions, brigade headquarters, battalions, companies, and units shall conduct a preliminary screening of the applications received and ensure that the selected applications reach the Directorate of Welfare by Bhadra 20, 2083 BS.
8. Objective of the Directorate of Welfare The objective of the Directorate of Welfare is to ensure that the above-mentioned scholarship reaches the rightful beneficiaries so that they may obtain educational opportunities and to gradually expand the scope of the scholarship program. To discourage false claims and applications, the concerned individuals shall be informed in a timely manner whenever irregularities are identified.
